When Angelique started graduate school she was enthusiastic to share her research with family and friends. This grew into a desire to share her research with the general public, which quickly evolved into Dreams of a Scientist- a business that shares the science stories alongside research.

Angelique created Dreams of a Scientist in 2025 while writing the children’s picture book Dreams of a Scientist: Lessons from the Sea. This book features 20 real-life scientists who have a wide range of backgrounds. By sharing the stories of diverse scientist’s, she knows this book will inspire little girls who have always loved science but did not know how to become a scientist.

With the goal of sharing this book in as many non-science spaces as possible, Angelique started looking into what it takes to market such a unique book. She realized that there were so many ways to share science with the public, and began working with a team to harness the power of storytelling via social media and other art forms like postcards and stickers. Now, Dreams of a Scientist collaborates with various artists and scientist to share stories in many different forms.
